What are the advantages of compound machining center compared with ordinary machining center?

1. Process integration and process optimization
Compound machining center integrates turning, milling, drilling, tapping and other functions. Most of the processes of complex parts can be completed in one clamping, avoiding the positioning error caused by multiple clamping in traditional machining. The turning and milling compound center completes turning, eccentric drilling and positioning milling of rotating parts (such as engine crankshafts) in one clamping, which significantly improves efficiency.
The traditional process requires multiple equipment to process in steps (such as lathe → milling machine → drilling machine), while the compound center compresses the process chain to a single equipment, reducing the auxiliary time by more than 40%, and the number of fixtures and waiting cycles are reduced simultaneously.

2. Processing accuracy and stability
Traditional machining is prone to datum conversion errors due to multiple clamping, while the compound machining center controls the dimensional accuracy within ±0.005mm and the roundness error ≤30μm by reducing the number of clamping times. The composite machining center is equipped with high-precision sensors and closed-loop control systems to monitor cutting parameters in real time and automatically compensate for thermal displacement and vibration to ensure the consistency of mass production.

3. Production efficiency
The multi-spindle and multi-station design (such as the 6-spindle turret type) combined with the automatic tool change system (tool change time <1 second) shortens the production cycle from minutes to seconds, which is suitable for large-scale complex parts production. Through modular design (such as vertical and horizontal double tool magazines), the process can be quickly switched to support flexible production of 100+ models/day, adapting to small-batch customization needs, while traditional production lines require time-consuming adjustments to equipment layout.

4. Space utilization and operation and maintenance costs
The composite center replaces multiple traditional production lines (such as lathe + milling machine + drilling machine combination), reducing the floor space by 50%, especially suitable for enterprises with limited plant space. The machine base adopts an inverted "T" layout, with high structural rigidity and no overturning moment throughout the stroke.
